Cringe (The Apocalypse Stomp) - [single]

about

Would you be ready for the apocalypse? Probably not!

We live in an oppressive society, squeezed between endless shifts, credit card bills and unreachable lifestyles imposed by social networks. That's why fans of post-apocalyptic movies often find themselves thinking that, after all, remaining the last person on earth after a nice apocalypse would be an escape from all the problems of everyday life. But if Covid, this sort of light-apocalypse that we have been through, has taught us something is that: no, we would not be prepared for a big-time-apocalypse. It would be cringe.
(It taught us many other things too, but that's another story)

lyrics

Lyrics:
I wished for the apocalypse
to come and set me free,
now I need to cut my hair
but there's no-one where I live.
There's a skull on my fence,
a few bodies on the lawn,
I got myself a shotgun
but don't know how to make it work...

Oh, it's cringe...
I sing the apocalypse stomp!

I've seen so many movies
I thought I'd be prepared,
I fell asleep with people
and I woke up with the dead.
I need to find some food,
a blanket for the cold
but what i miss the most
are weed and booty calls...

I know, it's cringe...
I sing the apocalypse stomp!
That's what i wished:
I'm alone now in this world!

Zombies, tornadoes,
floods and meteorites,
locusts' invasions,
acid rain and fire!
Ice ages, sharknado,
a virus in the air...
let's do yourself a favor
and get ready for hell!

Now I'm the king of town,
I roam around and loot,
I got no one to talk with
but look what a nice suit
and I found myself a nice car
but the petrol pumps don't work,
I only have the bike left
to travel my own world...

I know, it's cringe...
I sing the apocalypse stomp!

I got time on my back,
some aces up my sleeves,
some lighters in my pocket
and brushes for my teeth,
with some sticks and a rope,
well, I could make a trap.
I was diggin a hole
but I fell right on my back...

I know, it's cringe...
I sing the apocalypse stomp!
That's what i wished
but I won't survive a month...

Zombies, tornadoes,
floods and meteorites,
locusts' invasions,
acid rain and fire!
Ice ages, sharknado,
a virus in the air...
let's do yourself a favor
and get ready for hell!
